- It was nice to see Walter's memories of the first few seasons "restored" by Michael. Finally, Walter is "our" Walter again with memories of seasons 1 through 3.
- So, the Emire State Building is still standing in 2609!
- Windmak was able to travel to 2609 to visit the Commander quite easily. I wonder if that ability to travel through time is built into an Observer or if needs an infrastructure to work, like cell phones do. And I wonder if it is a special upgrade for Windmark and other special Observers, or if they all can do it.
- Walter was carrying a black umbrella. That was both a shout back to the password from Black Blotter and a foreshadowing of the mention of Singin' In the Rain.
- One of the black and white photos in Donald's apartment was Alfred Eisenstaedt's picture of a sailor kissing a nurse on V-J Day. This could be a sign that the war will soon be over. Also, it is is sign that September is into retro forties stuff.
- September (AKA Donald) had a box with a butterfly picture on the lid. Butterflies are a recurring fringe glyph image.
- September's music box played the tune to What Child is This? This could be a reference to the savior Observer child, Michael.
- Michael was watching lizards. He had heard Nina compare the Observer's brains to lizard brains earlier.
- The creation of the first proto-Observer was given as February 20, 2167 in Oslo, Norway. Wait! Wasn't Norwegian one of the languages that Walter was speaking in In Absentia? Does that mean that Walter is going to have to go to 2167 and leave everyone behind? Noooooooo!
- Also, a key code from In Absentia was 010567. January 5, 2167 is just a few weeks before the Dawn of the Planet of the Observers. Coincidence?
- September had a book in his apartment, the Holy Bible, which is a book about fathers, sons and sacrifice.
- September's tracking chip number was 784651.
- There was a typewriter in September's garage. Those have also been a recurring object in Fringe.
- The letters WS appeared on an alley wall when our heroes were evading the loyalists. Not sure what that was about.
- Windmark examined the Statue of Liberty snow globe when he got to September's apartment. This is a hint of the next espisode, Liberty, and a reference to the two-universe storyline.
- "1009" or something like that was spray painted on a wall during the chase at the end.
- Olivia had hope that the time travel plan might bring Etta back. Peter was right to be skeptical. Last time he tried to fix things by messing with the universe he ended up not existing. This is going to very complicated. When this is all over, Etta is likely to have never been born, or they'll go back to when she was a child or some weird outcome I can't predict. But it won't work out as Olivia hoped.

Fringe Episode 5.11: The Boy Must Live
Some notes and observations on The Boy Must Live:
Fringe Episode 5.10: Anomaly XB-6783746
Random notes and observations:
- There was a new resistance poster, this one demanding that we Take Back America.
- In the elevator to the Massive Dynamic black lab, there was a stylized X in the back wall. This could be a foreshadowing of September, who was identified as Mr. X on the medical readouts in season 4 or possibly the man with the X shirt who was going to kill Olivia from Lysergic Acid Diethylamide.
- Nina viewed a hologram of some contraption with a radar dish on top. Is this the thing Walter is working on building?
- So, Donald is September. Did Donald become September or did September become Donald? Or something more complicated?
